Garden Webworm, Achyra rantalis

Hosts: Many vegetable and bean species.
Symptoms: Larvae feed primarily on the underside of leaves causing a "skeletonized" appearance. The larvae spin webs and draw leaves within the web for food.
Description: Adults are buff moths with irregular markings/shadings of light and dark gray. Wing spread is about 3/4 inch. Generally, they are active at night and attracted to lights, but often are found in fields during the day, darting away in short flights when disturbed. Larvae are about 1 inch long, yellowish or pale to dark greenish with a light stripe down the back. Three dark spots form a triangle on each segment's side.
