The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Oklahoma State University invites applications for an 11-month, tenure-track faculty position, at the rank of Assistant Professor with a 100% teaching assignment.  Responsibilities include directing the undergraduate entomology program, teaching undergraduate entomology courses, and teaching specialized graduate level courses.  A primary teaching responsibility for this position will be ENTO 2003 (Insects and Society), a large Natural Science designated course (for non-majors) offered by the department.  The successful candidate will be expected to enhance the Bachelor’s degree curriculum, increase undergraduate enrollment, and develop innovative education offerings that meet the needs of students from other departments, colleges, and institutions.  Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate departmental activities involving undergraduate recruitment, advising, and internship experiences.  Expectations for scholarship and professional development include publication of innovative teaching approaches, submission of grant proposals to support development of educational programs, and participation in teaching initiatives offered by the University. Participation in cooperative research projects with other faculty in the department will be encouraged. 

Candidates must hold a PhD in entomology or a closely related field with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates.  Applicants should provide a teaching portfolio which includes evidence of effective instruction, development of instruction materials, and participation in teaching improvement programs. Applicants are also encouraged to provide a video presentation of instruction in the classroom.
