Entomology and Plant Pathology

Chromosomal locations of Drosophila SPs and SPHs.

According to their listed chromosomal positions, the 204 Drosophila SP and SPH genes are individually marked on chromosomes X, 2, and 3. The maps are not to scale, as regions that lack SP and SPH genes are compressed. Genes in the same polytene chromosome band are projected from a single point and follow the order of their nucleotide numbers from Drosophila Genome Annotation Database (Release 2). Genes marked with I*I are in an opposite orientation compared to the rest of genes in the same cluster. The vertical bars indicate clusters of adjacent SP/SPH genes. The branch numbers from phylogenetic tree are listed by the corresponding clusters to show genes resulting from recent gene duplication.
